Lead Hardware Design Engineer

Ochno AB is growing, and we are looking for you, the person to lead the hardware engineering part of our platform. You have a genuine interest in technology and innovation and is good at hardware development. You enjoy working in a team as well as taking your own initiative independently.

In this key position you will have the responsibility for the entire hardware process from specifying hardware requirements and collaborate with international suppliers to developing and defining the architecture for the embedded software. As the team expands you will be able to lead your own team of talented engineers, pushing the limits for the ways we use technology in the future.

You will work close both with both embedded software team and and team developing our cloud service Ochno Operated which provides all cloud services running Ochno.

Ochno’s hardware solutions are all advanced high-speed data and signal management and switching of video and USB communication.

Key work tasks are:

  • Design of Ochno's future PCBAs
  • Hands-on lab work during the design and debugging process
  • Drive the collaboration with manufactoring partners and Ochno's QA team to ensure high-quality final products
  • Manage the collaboration with regulatory partner and other specialized external test lab
  • Facilitate good collaboration with key IC companies to ensure that Ochno's recieves the best support and access to the latest technologies
  • Continously optimize the design and component selection to ensure optional price / performance

Qualifications:

To be successful in the role of Lead Hardware Designer, we would like you to match the following:

  • You have worked for 5 years with hardware development and electronics construction.
  • Proven experience of high-speed PCB design and EMC/EMI optimization
  • Appreciate hands-on lab work for development and testing.
  • You are fluent in English and speech and writing, as this is a requirement in contact with customers and colleagues.
  • That you live within commuting range of Västerås in Sweden or able to easily move there.

Not mandatory but meritorious:

  • Experience working with Altium Designer
  • Experience in high-speed USB, DisplayPort and HDMI design and standards
  • AC/DC and DC/DC design and optimizations
  • Good contacts with IC companies like Parade, Infineon and Synaptics
  • Also skilled in embedded software development

QA Engineer

At Ochno, you’ll collaborate closely with your Ochno peers on in-house projects. To excel in this role, you need to be a team player, communicative, and enjoy collaborating. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, your primary responsibility is to establish an end-to-end quality assurance process covering both the hardware and software aspects of Ochno’s product and service portfolio. Your focus will be on developing automation frameworks and processes to enable continuous product development while maintaining high quality standards. Testing predominantly involves software, including cloud-based and embedded systems. Additionally, you’ll be tasked with designing and supporting production test platforms at hardware manufacturing sites.

You possess a genuine interest in technology and innovation, thrive in team environments, and are proactive in taking initiative. This role offers engagement, challenge, and the opportunity to apply your problem-solving skills in a dynamic setting.

Job description:

  • Set up and maintain automated test frameworks within the Ochno DevOps environment, collaborating closely with software developers to ensure continuous testing of all cloud-based functionality.
  • Establish and maintain a system comprising a blend of automated and manual testing for embedded software.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded system developers and external testers to achieve a high level of quality.
  • Work closely with the technical support team to identify and address any quality issues with launched products and services.
  • Establish and maintain a test automation platform for use at hardware manufacturing sites, leveraging a combination of bespoke testing systems and custom integrations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the quality of Ochno’s products and services while fostering an agile, innovative environment.

We are looking for:

  • Experience in testing strategies and tools for cloud-based APIs and user interfaces.
  • Experience in testing strategies and tools for embedded software.
  • Experience in leading external testers for manual test case execution.
  • Experience in working with Unigraf test platforms and USB-C technologies in general is a plus.
  • Fluency in any of the major Indian languages or any of the major Chinese languages.
  • Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken, is required for communication with customers and colleagues.
  • If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must demonstrate that you have a valid work permit.

Embedded Software Developer

Ochno AB is growing, and we are looking for individuals with a strong interest in programming and experience in embedded software development. You will join our mission to pioneer the future of meeting room collaborations. We are seeking a tech-savvy, forward-thinking, passionate team player who is not afraid to explore the unknown and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is committed to achieving success as part of a team!

We are organized into cross-functional development teams where continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing are integral parts of our daily work. All embedded software development is conducted in-house, so your most relevant experience should come from this field. However, an interest in and experience with hardware design in general will provide you with an advantage, as it will enhance your understanding of the rapid progress that software and hardware make together.

Our embedded software stack is based on FreeRTOS and runs on MCUs from Microchip and Infineon, although we are also exploring additional hardware platforms. All embedded systems are IoT devices and are connected to Ochno Operated, the global management service provided by Ochno for our customers.

In addition to the regular embedded protocols, we also work with protocols such as USB Power Delivery, EDID/DDC, and CEC. We maintain close collaborations with leading manufacturers of key integrated circuits to ensure that we can always work with the latest available technology.

This position is based out of our office in Västerås, Sweden, where you will have access to our international team as well as close contact with your manager.

Qualifications:
